Nasty C (real name David Junior Ngcobo) is a rapper, producer, and songwriter from Durban (South Africa).
He’s fast gaining waves of interest in his local music industry with his fresh sound which is setting him apart from his peers. The eighteen-year-old cool kid by then started rapping at the age of nine, having been influenced by his older brother who was a producer at the time. He eventually mastered the process of music production and began adding his vocals to the beats he was making, later signing to Durban-based artist management company, Free World Music.
The stage name ‘Nasty C’ was given to him by the first producer he ever worked with, and from the beginning of his rap career, he’s been influenced by hip hop greats such as American rappers T.I, Lil Wayne, Drake, Hopsin, Kendrick Lamar as well local rappers such as AKA, Khuli Chana, and Reason, who he says still inspire him because of their work ethic. In 2013, he got to meet and open for one of those role models, rapper AKA, at his ‘Alter-Ego’ nationwide album launch.
Later that year he got to join AKA on stage during performance at a Durban festival; an experience he highlights as one of the best in his entire career and life.
Nasty C then released another mixtape, titled Price City on 10 February 2015, on his late mother’s birthday, as well as the day before his 18th birthday.
Nasty C released his major single “Juice Back” which later spawned a remix featuring Davido and Cassper Nyovest. The song was produced by Cassper Nyovest’s in-house producer Gemini Major.
On 9 January 2016, he was featured on Anatii and Cassper Nyovest’s collaborative single “Jump”. The official music video for the remix to the single “Juice Back” was released on 17 January 2016.
