The East London, the South African born musician, composer, producer and curator Msaki, has carved a lane all of her own makings and has always had a knack for effortlessly voicing our inner fears, hopes and desires.
She is a consummate artist whose creativity is a rarity finding expression in how she does community and business alike. The owner of a publishing company, Oneshushuday Publishing, where her love for the craft sees her organizing songwriting workshops and co-writing happenings as culture.
Her poetic lyrics and unforgettable melodies have landed right in the hearts of her growing audience just when they needed them most.
With the release of Msaki’s sophomore double album, ‘’Platinumb Heart,’’ in November 2021, she pushed boundaries giving both her singer-songwriter acoustic and electronic/producer sides time to shine.
In January 2022, Msaki collaborated on the song “Own The Future” with Goodluck, Shekhinah, and YoungstaCPT. She also received a nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year at the Global Music Awards Africa 2022.
To showcase the diversity and complexity of African music she founded ALTBLK assisting in shaping a collective identity for artists who straddle genres, referencing past heritage(s) while searching for future sounds.
