Bella Shmurda, real name Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, hails from Ojo in Lagos, a coastal state in Nigeria, where he received his basic and secondary schooling. Born on the 27th of January 1997, and proceeded to Lagos State University in 2016 to study History and International Relations. Bella is presently contracted to OneWord Global Records and has a close relationship with Olamide’s YBNL music label.
He is known for the success of his debut solo release “Vision 2020” in December 2018 and rose to prominence after enlisting YBNL boss, Olamide on a remix to the track produced by ID Cabasa of Coded Tunes Records in 2019 gaining him much publicity after. The visuals of the remix also featured popular dancer, Poco Lee.
Bella Shmurda has a couple of chart-topping tunes under his belt including the smash single ‘’Cash App’’ featuring Zlatan. He has also worked with the likes of top musicians in the music industry such as Runtown, Masterkraft, Papisnoop, Davido, Terri, DJ Spinall, Ceeza Milli, and also featured on Olamide’s Carpe Diem album.
Shmurda is a fantastic vocalist and performer of Hip Hop, Afro Beat, and RnB. In 2020, he released an EP titled “High Tension” dubbed with seven tracks, which was a huge hit on every major streaming platform. He was nominated for the 2020 Headies Award in the ‘Next Rated’ category.
